The Red Girl (3 of 3) – Open Edition Archival Monochrome Ink Print
The Red Girl forms part of The Girls, as they've come to be known, were inspired by the French phrase "La vie n'est pas d'attendre que l'orage passe, mais plutôt d'apprendre à danser sous la pluie." which translates to "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, but rather learning to dance in the rain". If we were to venture into the philosophical realm, it would be something resembling recognition (Girl Uno as The Yellow Girl), acknowledgement (Girl Dos, The Blue Girl), and acceptance (Girl Tres, The Red Girl).
It's a light piece, something I see either as singular or a grouping of the three on a little person's wall, a message of optimism in plain sight.
